What is the
“Uncover your Past – Discover your Future” Course about?

This course explores how the past shapes our identity in the present and forms the future with focus on some of the most prominent monuments and sites of Ancient Greek Civilization.
In order to examine the past, you will focus on a variety of subjects, most of which have their roots in the Ancient Greek Civilization; these range from history, archaeology, architecture, arts to mathematics, science and digital technologies. Through concept-based learning and exploration of subject-content of these subjects that are part of the school curriculum, you will develop both disciplinary and interdisciplinary understanding required for any high school programme and your future career.
Understanding the past and our identity is a complex matter that requires lifelong learning skills to tackle it. Critical thinking, research, communication and reflective skills are only some of the skills that you are going to practice in the interactive workshops and project-based sessions of the course.
At the end of the course, you will participate in an excavation and implement the skills, concepts and knowledge into a monument or site of your choice to apply what you have learnt and practiced. You will have the opportunity to take it away back home in a digital form.
At last, but not least, you will participate in fun social activities, sport activities at the beach, guided tours and tasting the Greek Cuisine. You will create new friendships and enjoy the sun and the beach in Athens. These highlight a memorable summer.
